Zeon Chemicals adds Applications Development Chemist to Nipol® Development Team
Galen Brooks now representing ZEON’s Nipol®, NBR Technical Team

Louisville, KY (June 16, 2015)—ZEON CHEMICALS L.P. has named Galen Brooks to the position of Applications Development Chemist in the Nipol®, NBR product line. Brooks joins the company with a background in technical service and manufacturing. He holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering with a focus in polymers, composites, colloids, and interfaces from the University of Washington.

“I’m very excited to have Galen join the ZEON team.” said Tom Hofer, Nipol Applications Development Scientist, “He has studied polymers and composites at the University of Washington and comes to us with nearly five years of hands on rubber experience. This along with his drive and determination, will make him a tremendous asset.”

Galen built on his knowledge of rubber chemistry by working with the R&D Components Group in Jackson, TN. “I have always been inclined towards the technical side of things.” said Brooks. He later moved to manufacturing, in Clinton, TN, which allowed him to gain practical experience and see science in real time as he was responsible for running mixers and the quality lab.

“ZEON has given me the opportunity to return to the truly technical side of the industry and the resources here are incredible,” said Brooks. “The people, the products, and the labs are world class and give me the opportunity to learn more about rubber chemistry, processes, and applications than I ever expected.”
